WVIX operates as a neutral Internet Exchange and supports open peering among connected members. Bilateral and multilateral peering arrangements are established directly between participating networks.
Membership in WVIX is open to ISPs, content providers, enterprises, educational institutions, government entities, and other qualifying networks.
Membership and port access are provided at no cost. WVIX welcomes voluntary contributions of colocation space, equipment, or transport to support growth of the exchange fabric.
WVIX is organized as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization and is registered with the Internal Revenue Service. The exchange is operated for the benefit of its members and the regional internet ecosystem.
